Water is the ultimate purifier of our bodies. It helps to flush out toxins and aids in bodily functions. It is recommended that each of us drink 8 glasses or 64 ounces of water each day.

Some of us may not be attracted to drinking plain water and prefer an ‘enhanced’ water drink. Spa water is inviting, delicious and beneficial. Spa water is infused with fresh fruits and/or vegetables. By adding particular fruits or vegetables to very cold water, you are also adding nutritional and detoxifying benefits. For example, cucumber slices infused in water helps cool the inflammatory response of the body, helps to flush toxins, hydrates the body and reduces puffiness and bloating. Lime is a natural detoxifier and helps with digestion. Oranges and grapefruit are high in Vitamin C. The taste of water becomes even more refreshing and slightly sweet when these ingredients are added.

Mint or basil leaves added to the water provide anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-oxidant and anti-cancer properties to water.

Mint also helps to relax muscles and offers relief from cramping, bloating and constipation.

Other fruits that can be added to water include berries, peaches, grapes, watermelon, pineapple and cantaloupe.

At Spatheology, we take great care to provide our guests with liquid refreshment that is not only delicious but healthful.
