There’s no other way to say it – Asheville is special. Our little corner of the Blue Ridge is home to a fabulous mix of art and technology, tourism and homegrown charm. We have a fascinating history and a culture we can be proud of – and we’ve done a good job of preserving them.

We have art galleries galore, there is music just about everywhere, the food is great and the views are sublime. The city is known as an art colony and a healing resort. All kinds of amazing people have left their mark on Asheville’s story.

In case you haven’t figured it out yet, at Spatheology, we love Asheville! And we love Asheville’s local businesses! That’s why we offer locally inspired spa services, like our Privai Detox Ritual, featuring products from Asheville’s own Privai, which crafts botanically based skin and body care line. You’ll enjoy a head, neck, and foot massage, detox and refresh with an immunity boosting dry brush exfoliation and luxuriate in Privai’s antioxidant-rich body wrap and a purifying face masque. We’ll even send you home with a Privai sample so you can keep the good going.

It’s also why we support Asheville Grown (www.ashevillegrown.com.). Asheville Grown is committed to strengthening our local economy through businesses that value the people in our community, the health of our environment and the power of collaboration. The organization’s mission is to grow a resilient local economy and thriving community, champion the unique character of our region and advocate for prosperity for all.

Cities and towns all across America are recognizing the value of shopping local. As Asheville Grown points out, locally owned businesses circulate three times more money back into the local economy than chain stores. When you shop local, you are doing something good for our economy and for the environment.

Asheville’s local businesses are the city’s backbone and the source of its unique character. We are in a position to respond to city’s needs – and to its whims!

In February, we will join with Asheville Grown, its members and Asheville Mayor Esther Manheimer to celebrate Love Asheville Go Local Week. Appropriately, Love Asheville Week will be celebrated the week of Valentine’s Day. Eight days of activities will begin on Saturday, February 10 and run through Saturday, February 17. #LoveLocalAVL

Franzi Charen, Founder, Asheville Grown Business Alliance, said, “I hope to see thousands of locals returning to Downtown this year, and, just as important, I would love to see this spark a massive support of local businesses throughout all neighborhoods in Buncombe County!”

Asheville Grown has been encouraging locally-owned, independent businesses to make the celebration in downtown Asheville special by promoting sales, keeping doors open later, offering interactive events, food, drink, live music and art. At Spatheology, we can’t wait!
